The purpose of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to voice
opinions and issues in the areas of academics, campus activities,
and operations, for the campus as a whole, in order to provide the best
college experience to the students. Our concern is not only for students
that we are currently representing but for all future students and
USciences as an institution.
The SGA continually strives to improve the quality of student life here at the University. Our goal is to provide an environment of academic, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being for the students of the institution. We accomplish this in many ways, some of which include providing activites for the student body, working with the administration to meet student needs, and providing supplemental funding to the 90+ organizations and club sports currently active at the University. The SGA is involved with many large events on campus, inlcuding Welcome Weeks, The Student Organizational Fair, Family Fall Fest, Spirit Days, Student Appreciation Day and Weekend, USciences Olympics, and Multicultural Month.
Becoming an SGA Senator or Executive Board Member is an excellent way to get involved at University of the Sciences. SGA members vote on important decisions that impact the student body and are often made aware of news and changes regarding the University before their peers. Although anyone is welcome to attend and take part in SGA general assemblies, committee meetings, and activities, only elected or appointed members are eligible to vote.
Student Government encourages all students to attend their General Assembly Meetings which occur on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of each month in the Pharmacogy/Toxicology Center, Room 140.
